Tonight’s Smackdown will be headlined by a match we’ve seen plenty of times over the past few years on Raw, as Sheamus is set to challenge Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Title. Last week, Sheamus defeated Mark Henry & Christian in a triple threat match to earn his title opportunity, and the Celtic Warrior hopes to upset the WWE’s Apex Predator on tonight’s blue brand extravaganza. Meanwhile, the two losers of last week’s triangle match will go head-to-head tonight to open the show when Christian collides with Mark Henry.
Jinder Mahal will make his WWE in-ring debut tonight, taking on Yoshi Tatsu. Also on the lineup card is a rematch from last week’s show that will see the divas in tag team action, as Tamina & Alicia Fox will face Kaitlyn & AJ. The Intercontinental Championship will be defended on tonight’s show when Ezekiel Jackson takes on former friend Wade Barrett, who will surely have the rest of the Corre in his corner. Finally, one week after Daniel Bryan notched an impressive win over Cody Rhodes, the American Dragon will take on Ted DiBiase in singles competition.
