King of Trios 2011: BE THERE.

For those not familiar with CHIKARA, well, I’m sorry.  You’re missing out.  The Wrestling Observer Online endorsed CHIKARA as “the most entertaining product in the world.”  The promotion has been described as “lucha libre by the writers of LOST.”  The stuff’s good.  Really good.  Remember the Colony, the half men/half ants we featured in our daily promo a few weeks ago?  They’re going to be wrestling the Batiri, led by Kizarny, this weekend.  And this week, the Batiri posted this on Craigslist.  Wrestling’s first Craigslist promo.

Yeah, CHIKARA is that awesome.

This weekend is CHIKARA’s biggest event of the year.  Taking place over three nights, King of Trios will be hosted in the Asylum Arena (formerly the infamous ECW Arena), and it’s going to be pretty amazing.  Consisting of 16 teams of 3, for a total of 48 competitors, King of Trios is literally wrestling’s biggest tournament.  In addition to the Colony facing the Batiri in the first round, the shows will feature ProRasslin.com favorites Mike Quackenbush, UltraMantis Black, & the Throwbacks.  Combine that with the Sean Waltman resurrecting the 1-2-3 Kid, a scheduled Sara Del Rey appearance, & the Great Sasuke, and you’ve got the recipe for a fantastic event.

If you reside in the Philadelphia area, I implore you, check out King of Trios one night this weekend.  It has my highest recommendation.  You can get directions and details like bell time at CHIKARA’s official site.  It’s only $25, and it’s better than any WWE show you’ll see.  I’ll be there all three nights, so if you plan on attending, track me down.  I’ll be the dude handing out flyers that say ProRasslin.com on them.
