Congratulations to the new Ring of Honor World Champion, Eddie Edwards. Edwards was able to defeat Roderick Strong at ROH’s Manhatten Mayhem IV on Saturday to win the belt. Strong’s reign began on September 11th of last year when he won the belt from Tyler Black, also in Manhatten. This is Eddie Edwards’ first World Title, and you can watch his post match celebration above. Edwards has been a member of the American Wolves with partner Davey Richards for the past three years, and as you can see, Richards came down to the ring to congratulate his friend on his championship win at the conclusion of the event. Richards was the last primary contender to the World Championship before Edwards, although he obviously fell short of taking the belt from Roderick Strong. I expect Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards to engage in a friendly feud over the Title, and I can tell you now, the two of them will have some impressive matches if that’s the case.
