Every Tuesday, we take a look at an outlandish character from wrestling’s days gone by.  Sometimes laughable, sometimes revolting, but always preposterous, they’re part of what makes pro rasslin’ so great.  Ranging from slightly peculiar to downright ludicrous, these are the wrestlers that time has rightly forgotten.

WWE, TNA, Wrestling
Braaaaains...

In light of the would-be zombie apocalypse that failed to transpire last weekend, I feel that it’s appropriate to take a look at one of the squared circle’s most infamous brain eaters.  Tim Roberts wrestled just one match as The Zombie and it only lasted about a minute, but it was enough to ingrain his lameness onto the minds of professional wrestling fans everywhere.  The date was June 13, 2006, and the event was the first ever episode of WWE’s version of ECW on the Sci Fi Network.  There was a concern among original ECW fans that WWE would soil the name of their beloved promotion by adding touches of silliness, or by trying to make the show fit in on Sci Fi by giving it a supernatural flavor.  When The Zombie shuffled his way to the ring, many believed that their fears had been realized.  When Sandman appeared and dispelled the unwelcome undead grappler, however, it seemed to symbolize that there was no place on ECW for this kind of character, and that things wouldn’t be so bad after all.  This was not the case.  As you know, The Zombie was just the first in a long line of disgraces to pass through WWE’s ECW, as the show ultimately became a breeding ground for bad ideas.  And it all started with The Zombie, who despite his obvious limits, was less stiff and displayed better mic skills The Great Khali.
