Every Tuesday, we take a look at an outlandish character from wrestling’s days gone by.  Sometimes laughable, sometimes revolting, but always preposterous, they’re part of what makes pro rasslin’ so great.  Ranging from slightly peculiar to downright ludicrous, these are the wrestlers that time has rightly forgotten.

What a Terrizible Gizimmick.

Nick Cvjetkovich, better known to wrestling fans everywhere as Kizarny, first gained national exposure in the United States in TNA, wrestling under the moniker of SiNN.  There, he was a member of the Father James Mitchell’s Disciples of the New Church, alongside Dead Wrestler Wednesday subjects Malice & Mike Awesome.  It wasn’t until the Halloween season of 2008 that he adopted his Kizarny gimmick as part of WWE’s Smackdown brand.  According to Cvjetkovich, the Kizarny character is what would have been created if Jake “The Snake” Roberts and Doink the Clown produced a lovechild.  The character was promoted by weeks of vignettes foretelling of his arrival.  In the promos, Kizarny would be seen around a carnival, speaking in carny slang, inserting -iz’s and -erza’s into the middle of his words to make himself difficult to understand.  Unfortunately for Kizarny, his weeks of hype videos actually lasted longer than his in-ring run with WWE.  After two and a half months of promotion, Kizarny competed in just two televised matches before receiving his release.  He’s since returned to the independent circuit, appearing regularly for CHIKARA, and is married to “The Kat” Stacy Carter, so he must be doing something right.
