So here’s one out of the bizarro files: The WWE’s Maryse Ouellet is being stalked by a crazed 61-year-old fan.
World Wrestling Entertainment’s French Canadian Diva has filed a request for a restraining order against Lee Silber, an elderly fan who Maryse says has been stalking her months. The fan has reportedly sent a number of terrifying letters to Maryse’s home and left over 50 voicemails on her personal cell phone, the nature of which were described by the Diva as “extremely disturbing and delusional.” Some of the content contained in the stalker’s messages include the promise of a check for $100,000 and a 100 carat diamond ring worth $20,000,000 (twenty million!) to prove that he his her friend. His words, folks, not mine.
Here’s where the story takes a dark twist. According to Maryse, the 61-year-old Silber’s tone has become more foreboding in recent weeks. The man has insisted that he would come to L.A. for her, and went so far as to claim he’d take her “to heaven” with him.
“I fear for my life,” said Maryse in the documents she filed to a judge in her request for protection. She described her obsessive fan as a “crazy stalker … who needs to either be in a psychiatric hospital or jail!” Can’t compose much of an argument against that, I suppose. I’d like to think that this situation will resolve with the old goat on the receiving end of a Skull Crushing Finale from Maryse’s must-see boyfriend. But in all seriousness, this is becoming a bit of a scary situation, and I sincerely hope it ends without incident. Or at least better than any of the WWE’s attempts to create a stalker character in the past.
