Forever has a rumor existed that the WWE’s Hall of Fame would one day be enshrined in a physical building that fans could visit and tour. While any such creation is still a long way off, the idea is in the planning stages and it looks to be making modest progress towards actualization. Posted on the WWE’s website last week was a job listing for an archivist, and from what I understand, the position is related to the planned Hall. Baby steps, people, baby steps.
I don’t need to tell you how awesome of a destination a wrestling Hall of Fame would be, but I’m going to anyway. Fans from around the globe would undoubtedly flock to the hallowed Hall like a Mecca of sorts, making pilgrimages from far and wide to see the tribute to wrestlers past and present. I assume contained inside would be memorabilia from virtually all of the pivotal moments in WWE history, not just accolades for those already enshrined in the Hall. Fans could take photos next to Ric Flair’s retirement robe, Undertaker’s Urn, or the steel chair that busted Mankind open at the 1999 Royal Rumble. Why not have a seat on the set of Piper’s Pit, marvel over the size of Andre the Giant’s boots, or pose with one of Eddie Guerrero’s lowriders? Honestly, I’m already excited for whenever this plan may come to fruition. What items would like you to see included in the Hall?
