Jerry Lynn has led one of the most underappreciated careers in recent memory. Ask any number of fans what their favorite ECW matches were, and a decent chunk of them will mention the series of clinics put on by Rob Van Dam and Jerry Lynn over 1999 and 2000. While RVD never ascended to win the ECW World Heavyweight Championship (not in the real ECW anyway), Jerry Lynn managed to do just that. Defeating Justin Credible at Anarchy Rulz in October of ’99, Lynn didn’t exactly prosper as champion. He lost the belt one month later to Steve Corino, making his reign one of the more forgettable ones in ECW history. It didn’t change the fact, however, that his efforts impressed the crowd every time he stepped into the ring for the hardcore promotion.
