The Metamorphosis of Velvet Sky

All right, folks.  Is is in no way newsworthy, and for most of you, it might not even be interesting.  But it’s something that’s bothered me for years.  Pro-Pain Pro Wrestling (3PW) was a promotion owned and operated by The Blue Meanie and Jasmin St. Claire that ran monthly shows in Philadelphia from 2002 through 2005.  I used to attend all of their events, and to be honest, I really miss them.  At any rate, the company showcased plenty of former ECW talent like Raven, Justin Credible, and Pitbull Gary Wolfe, along with more than a few more.  Stars of the future also regularly appeared there, as 3PW provided me with my first exposure to Matt Striker, Joey Mercury, Robbie E, and Low Ki, among others.

One of those others was Talia, better known today as TNA’s Velvet Sky.  Watch the video above.  That’s her.  Now, I ask you…WHAT?!  It’s bugged me forever that she looked like that when I used to sit front row for her wet T-shirt contests when I was in high school, and today she looks like this.  I know this is shallow and ultimately not even worth talking about, but I mean, come on.  She looks like two totally different people, and it’s not just one cosmetic change like a breast enhancement either.  Everything about her looks radically better today.  I get bummed out every Thursday night watching Impact because of this, even though that really doesn’t make any sense.  I just feel like I didn’t appreciate what was in front of me back in the 3PW days – today I’d go to an event specifically to see Velvet Sky, whereas she was little more than an afterthought to me when I attended shows she was a part of every month.  I usually don’t like to rant about such trivial matters here, but I needed an outlet to vent my frustrations.  I do, however, take solace in knowing that she wasn’t always as attractive when notorious jerkwad Shane Helms had his filthy hands on her.
