Jake Roberts was inarguably one of the best talkers in the history of the business. Jake never had to raise his voice or resort to shock tactics to make his promos effective. He was gifted with a disgusting amount of natural charisma, and it shown through in every promo he cut. This particular one comes from This Tuesday in Texas, a rare Tuesday night pay-per-view from December of 1991, after Roberts slapped Miss Elizabeth across the face. It’s a true shame that his struggles with substance abuse derailed his career. Had they not, it’s possible that Jake could have reached a level reserved for the most elite of ring veterans. He certainly had the skills.
