The year: 1995. The place: Japan. Mick Foley was done with WCW, yet to debut in WWE, and had been appearing regularly with upstart alternative promotion Extreme Championship Wrestling. In the midst of his tenure there, Foley split time with the International Wrestling Association of Japan. It was there that he endured some of his career’s most brutal matches – he became intimately familiar with C4, thumbtacks, and beds of nails.
