Jesse Neal Navy

As many of us watched John Cena capture his record tying 8th WWE Championship, news was breaking around the world that the United States has achieved a much more impressive feat: Osama bin Laden had been killed by our United States troops. As I watched my Facebook and Twitter feeds flood, many friends expressed feelings of satisfaction, justice and vengeance. No posts resonated more than those of TNA’s Jesse Neal.

On 9/11 2001, Osama bin Laden and his radical terrorist group al-Qaeda attacked our country and became the face of evil. As details surfaced later that afternoon, most of us heard bin Laden’s name for the very first time. For pro wrestler Jesse Neal, it was tragic case of deja vu. Neal was serving aboard the USS Cole as a member of the US Navy when terror struck his life for the first time. On 10/12 2000, members of al-Qaeda navigated a small boat beside the anchored USS Cole; moments later there was an explosion. The blast left 17 people dead and injured 39 more. Among the dead was Marc Nieto, Neal’s best friend.

Every Monday, Thursday and Friday we watch 2 hours of men and women pretending to be good and evil for the sake of our entertainment. On Sunday May 1st 2011, real good men and women claimed victory over real evil. On behalf of all us here at ProRasslin.com, I’d like to thank Neal, Nieto and all of those who have served and continue to serve our country. It’s the work that you do and sacrifices you’re willing to make that allow us to be free and safe. For that, we couldn’t be more grateful. God bless you all and God bless the United States of America.
