Edge’s next challenger will be decided tonight when Smackdown hosts a #1 contenders match as its main event. Royal Rumble winner Alberto Del Rio will go one-on-one with Christian with the winner advancing to Extreme Rules to challenge for the World Heavyweight Title. Del Rio is fresh off a WrestleMania loss to Edge and is surely eyeing a rematch, while Christian hasn’t had a World Title match in recent memory and would like to earn a shot at the championship held by his best friend. Also scheduled for tonight’s show is a divas tag team match that will pit Kelly Kelly & Beth Phoenix against LayCool. Cody Rhodes, still basking in the glory of his WrestleMania win over Rey Mysterio, will be in action against Trent Baretta tonight, and you can bet that he’ll have his protective mask with him. Lastly, in a WrestleMania rematch, the Corre will once again meet the team of Big Show, Kane, Santino Marella, & Kofi Kingston, only this time it will be a 2-out-of-3 falls match. Hopefully the addition of this stipulation will secure the match more time than it received at WrestleMania.
