- WWE officially announced the signing of Mistico this weekend with a press conference in Mexico. Mistico was sporting a new mask and introduced at the event as Sin Cara, the name that he’ll be going by upon his debut. Almost all of Mexico’s sports media covered the signing, and Sin Cara did interviews with a number of television networks about it. CMLL, the company for which he wrestled prior to joining WWE, announced that they’d eventually be putting someone else under the Mistico mask and billing them as Mistico II. Although it’s mostly in Spanish, you can check out the new mask and catch JR’s comments in this video from the press conference. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRcw4HffCa8]
- This weekend’s Ring of Honor iPPV was, by all accounts, a fantastic show. I was unable to catch the event, but every report I read speaks favorably of it. Roderick Strong and The Kings of Wrestling retained their titles against Homicide and the All Night Express, respectively. Christopher Daniels wrestled Eddie Edwards to a time limit draw, and the World’s Greatest Tag Team gained a victory of the Briscoe Brothers to become the number over contenders to the Tag Team Titles.
- The Rock posted this picture on his Twitter in response to John Cena’s recent comments about him. Cena also tweeted that he heard The Rock might have something in store for tonight’s show. We shall see.
