There are plenty of factors that let to the demise of World Championship Wrestling, not the least of which was Screamin’ Norman Smiley. Sure, you can point at the inability to establish home grown stars. Maybe their wreckless spending to bring in celebrities like Dennis Rodman and Jay Leno contributed a little bit. And yes, the stories of ego clashes and backstage politicking are well documented. But if you can look me in the eye and tell me that the Big Wiggle didn’t have as much to do with WCW’s collapse as the rest of these problems, I’ll eat my hat.
